We have had another busy few weeks in ARP 2!
We enjoyed an afternoon in the sun protecting our school from the dreaded dragon! We have been learning about the legend St George and the Dragon and made rockets to fire from our castle to defend ourselves! We learned about air pressure, how it builds up in the bottle and releases quickly when we jump on it. We experimented with large and small rockets and bottles and how we could make our rocket go the furthest and most accurately to hit the target. Alfie was very knowledgeable and taught the other children lots. He was awarded Star of the Week for this!
While we were in the Retreat, we spotted a familiar creature. A young hedgehog was hiding in a pile of leaves in the corner! We were amazed to see one so closely and we remembered everything we had learned about them last year. We carefully put him in a tyre to be safe until we went inside.
In English, we developed our sentence structure by using Colourful Semantics. We confidently read the legend of St George and the Dragon and wrote sentences to describe what the dragon looked like and what it did. Some of us made sure our sentences had the correct punctuation; some of us extended our sentences with ‘and’.
